How Does Spray Foam Roofing Work?
A spray foam roof consists of two layers of material, a layer of rigid, high R-value spray foam, plus a coating. When properly installed, the life expectancy of these types of roofs is 40-50 years or more.
In retrofit applications, these roofs can be installed right over top of an existing roofing system without the need for demolition or removal of the old system. They can also be sprayed over a hard substrate in new construction applications. Eliminating the need to remove the old roofing system in retrofit applications means big cost savings and faster installation.
Over time, the only maintenance required is a fresh coating every 10-20 years. And the cost of recoating is typically less than half that of recoating a traditional rubber commercial roof.
